Specialty Vinyl

Specialty vinyl needs to be ordered at least 2 INCHES LARGER than the smallest size available as it doesn't cut fine detail as well as normal vinyl.

Various Chrome Colors
Chrome-Gold-Black-Blue-Red-Green

Brushed Aluminum *Specialty (click to enlarge) NOT FOR Compound Curves*.

Black Carbon Fiber  *Specialty   Click to enlarge. NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

GRAY Carbon Fiber  *Specialty   Click to enlarge. NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

Diamond Plate   *Specialty   (click to enlarge)  MOST REALISTIC diamond plate vinyl available.  It looks so real you have to touch it to see if the tread is 3D (it is not).  This works best on medium to large size decals that have a fairly solid design.  The pattern is the size of  real Diamond Plate (this remains the same no matter what the size of decal).
NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

BLACK Diamond Plate   *Specialty   (click to enlarge)  MOST REALISTIC diamond plate vinyl available.  This works best on medium to large size decals that have a fairly solid design.  The pattern is the size of  real Diamond Plate (this remains the same no matter what the size of decal).
NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

  Etched Glass  *Specialty
Also works great on white/silver surfaces for a "ghost flame" look

Clear Carbon Fiber shown on Red, Blue and Yellow vinyl.  *Specialty   (click image to enlarge; sorry, this does not scan well)
This vinyl is best to be used over another color vinyl to give you any color Carbon Fiber you want.  To order, you will need to order 2 identical decals, 1 in Clear Carbon Fiber and the other color of your choice.  This may be done using the "shadow" option.

***Clear Vinyl  This is used ONLY for protecting a decal.  Select the "contour" option and clear as the color.  You may apply the clear over the top of the decal to give your decal extra protection against the elements though this is not required.  Not listed as a color option (due to confusion with customers) but is available if needed.

***Paint Mask Vinyl  This is used for making a stencil for painting.  You apply the decal, paint over it and remove the decal.  What is left is the same design that is shown on the website but it is now PAINTED on the surface.  This is done using a block design in which the design is cut out of the block.   This vinyl is much easier to remove than regular vinyl so it is only for TEMPORARY ONE TIME USE.  It is a slightly darker than the Sky Blue and is semi-transparent.

Chrome (shown next to Super Silver for reference) *Specialty  (click to enlarge)  Motorcycle decals are shown with the black shadow option.

Blue Chrome *Specialty  (Same as chrome but tinted blue) shown next to Royal Blue for reference NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

Black Chrome shown on right.  (Shown next to Ultra Black for reference)  This is the most glossy black vinyl available (think black lacquer paint)  NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

Emerald Chrome *Specialty  (Same as chrome but tinted Dark Green) shown next to Green Chrome for reference (Emerald is on the right) NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE or Compound Curves*.

*Compound Curve Definition:  A compound curve is one that would bend in 2 separate nonlinear directions.  Think of a ball shape; this would be a compound curve.  Most vinyl that will not stretch to a compound curve can still be bent around a simple curves (like and edge of a surface).  And designs that have a lot of "open areas" within the design may still work on very mild compound curves.

*Reflective Vinyl*

Shown in Normal Light

*Special Notes for Reflective Vinyl.

  • Reflectives should not be used on the inside of the glass if you want the color to show.  The adhesive side is silver so if you use it on the inside, it will appear silver from the outside of the glass.

  • This vinyl is extremely thick (5-7 mils) so in most cases you will need to order 3-4 INCHES ABOVE THE MINIMUM SIZE AVAILABLE.  This will ensure that the decal can be made with all the proper details of the design.  If the design does not have a lot of detail it may be able to be made in the minimum size listed.  Please email if you have questions concerning this.

Reflective White *Specialty (click to enlarge)  On the RIGHT is the Reflective white in both images.  The vinyl on the left is the Arctic White.  The Reflective is a pearl white during normal light.  It has a tendency to look light metallic silver in certain lighting.  NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE.

<-- With and without flash
Reflective Red  *Specialty (click to enlarge)
The 1st image shows the Reflective Red on the left next to the cardinal red on the right.  This image was taken in total darkness with a Flash to show the difference between the 2 reds.  The Reflective Red is very close to Cardinal Red in regular light.  NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE.

Reflective Blue *Specialty (click to enlarge) Shown next to royal blue in total darkness with a flash.  NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE.

Reflective Black *Specialty (click to enlarge) Shown next to Ultra Black in total darkness with a flash.  NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE.

Reflective Yellow *Specialty (click to enlarge) Shown next to Canary Yellow in total darkness with a flash.  NOT FOR INSIDE OF GLASS USE.

Outdoor Life Expectancy of vinyl listed.

Basic Colors - 6 Years (Gold & Silver - 3 Years)

Diamond Plate - 5 Years

Etched Glass - 5 Years

Reflective - 7 Years

Gold Mirror - 5 Years

Chrome (any color) - 5 Years

Carbon Fiber (any color) - 5 Years

Brushed Aluminum - 5 Years

The life expectancy is provided by the manufacturer of the vinyl and is an approximation of how long it will stand up against fading, cracking and peeling when left outdoors.  This time can be extended if the decal does not sit in the sun or weather every day.  You may also wish to cover the corners with a clear fingernail polish (especially helpful on small pointed parts).  This gives added protection against the corners peeling up.  This should not be taken as a warranty of any kind.
